A Postdoctoral Research Fellow position is available within the CIHR funded Policies, Knowledge and Health Research Chair based at Université de Montréal.
The post-doctoral fellowship opportunity will take place within a new project aimed at studying networks of knowledge exchange. The project is the first Canadian-level attempt to map and structurally analyze—quantitatively—health-relevant policy-making networks that connect evidence production, synthesis, and interpretation. Operationally, the project is based on quantitative analysis of ties (relationships) that link nodes (participants) in a network. Network data will be collected through a multi-step snowball sampling strategy. Data will be analyzed structurally using social network mapping and analysis methods.

Will be expected to
- Be actively involved in the project design and implementation.
- publish at least one individually authored article in a leading international journal
Desired skills and experience
- The candidate should have a PhD in the field of Public Health, Political Science, or other relevant discipline
- The candidate should have a promising track record in a field of research that is relevant for the project, as demonstrated by relevant papers, publications, conference participations, PhD dissertation, reviews, commi.ttee comments
- The candidate should be able to work independently and at the same time be a team player.
- Interest in, or experience with Social Network Analysis theories may be an asset, but is not compulsory.
- The work environment is bilingual (French and English) and some. Fluency in both languages is an asset.
Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
- Full time position, 1 year. The position will commence in fall 2017, at a date to be determined in consultation with the researcher.
- Salary 40 000/year +3% compensation for insurance
- We encourage interested candidates to additionally apply for another fellowship award
- For foreign postdoctoral fellows, depending on their residency status, their annual income and their expenses, income tax may be refunded
- The cost of living in Montreal is low for a city of its size.
